Oh That Naval Look In The Latest Women's Pea Coats! One of my favorite department stores - Bloomingdale's is featuring women's pea coats in their women's section this month. Twenty four good looking double breasted pea coats by various designers and in a fairly wide range of prices. I just love pea coats anyway. They have that certain something that's not quite definable but quietly stolen from that British Naval Officer look that we all melt over when we see it. Remember Noel Coward in that WW2 movie "In Which We Serve". Nothing like that coat braving the frigid North Atlantic gunning for U Boats! Well, I'm in desperate need of a new warm winter jacket so let's look at some of the Bloomingdale's offerings in the pea coats. I want one of those gorgeous snuggly deep roll collars. First on my list is this Tory Burch Pea Coat in Melton Wool. Yes, its in the traditional Navy, double breasted with large gold tone Tory Burch embossed buttons and continuing that military look - epaulets. Three flap pockets, $595.
Now for something completely different. Its a Hilary Radley Alpaca Pea Coat. Comes in either beige or black. Single breasted and away from that military look. Open side pockets, swing shape and vertical stitch detail on the cuffs. This is a sharp looking jacket and priced at $495. OK - still looking? How about this Leifsdottir Textured Wool Pea Coat. Extremely stylish, a double-breasted peacoat with a Peter Pan collar with ties. Button front, front pockets. Back belt. Abstract peacock print lining. Really good looking from the back as well. Price $458 for this lovely coat.
If you don't like one of these, try all 24 of their current showing. They've got more than anyone else to select from. Don't wait too long though. These are going to move quickly and i doubt they will get replaced in the stores this season.
